The past has a long memory.
As Jersey prepares to turn back the clock for a festival celebrating the 1980s, old faces return to the island and memories of another summer begin to surface.
Then a discovery at the site of a former hotel draws DCI Jack Le Claire into events that reach back to 1987.
What happened that summer has remained hidden for almost forty years. A young woman vanished. Lives moved on. And those who were there have had decades to remember the past in their own way — or convince themselves they have forgotten it.
As Jack begins to piece together what really happened, he discovers that memory can be unreliable, identity can be deceptive, and some secrets were never meant to survive.
